Last month I told you about our exciting new competition in the Philippines. I hope many of you put your talent and creativity to good use in participating in this important idea of finding good new products and services to offer in the BOP market.
I just came across a very well done interview with Mark Joaquin Ruiz, co-founder and managing director of MicroVentures Inc. It was our great privilege at SEVEN and the Fisherman Foundation to work with him in preparing this competition. Mark talks to Anna Meijer van Putten and the interview is published in The Broker, the foundation for International Development Publications’ news magazine.

Thank you for sharing this, Andreas! Inspired by rereading the interview, I was able to finished a long-drafted blog entry along the similar theme of Business Partners of the Poor – http://ruizmark.com/2010/10/10/business-partners-of-the-poor/
By the way, we have a lot of great entries – or smartphone “apps” as we use metaphorically – for our Innovation Grant! We’re quite excited with the ideas – thank you for the support!
