Here’s how to make an idea a reality: Write it down

Here’s a pretty cool video from Personal MBA and Josh Kaufman. He talks about the process of externalization – taking one of our thoughts and converting it to a form that our brain processes differently, either speaking or writing.
Ever had a really great idea and then never get around to doing it? Externalization is one of the first steps to actually getting it off the ground.
When learning a new language, I found that one of the most helpful things for me to do was to read out loud in that language. Not only was I able to practice my pronunciation, but speaking the phrases that I read on paper allowed me to process them differently and take greater account of the grammar rules, etc.
