Which Apps Increase Productivity?
I like the term “suitcase entrepreneur” because that’s what you end up being when you start a new company and are traveling around to pitch your idea to potential funders and clients. Here’s a great article by Natalie Sisson in which she describes her favorite tools for the traveling entrepreneur. I also like her statement that being disconnected often increases our productivity. My own favorite apps for productivity are: Dropbox – I couldn’t live without it. It allows me to share any documents with specific co-workers and clients (I make folders with their names and then share with them) Carbonite – Works in the background but boy are you glad you have it if anything ever happens to your computer. Do it now so you don’t regret it later! WordPress – Best blogging software I’ve seen. Skype – I use it not just to “skype” but also to call normal telephone numbers internationally. Very inexpensive and pretty good quality. What are your favorite apps?

Startup Rater
This is a really cool website – Killer Startups. They take 15 different internet startups each day and they evaluate them, and ask pertinent questions regarding their operation. Then, they give the readers a chance to vote for the best one. Pretty simple, but it’s a great way to get a feel for what’s popular out there and what is going to be successful!

Enchantment: The Art of Facebook Marketing
Guy Kawasaki’s latest book Enchantment has been quite a hit as he discusses methods for changing people’s hearts, minds, and actions. This related article that he wrote is brilliant, as he discusses how to use Facebook to apply some of the principles that he discusses in his book. He’s got some recommendations that, although they may seem to be common sense, we always need to be reminded of them and take great effort to apply them: things like continuously commenting on your feed, posting pictures that attract your fans, and making only positive comments, leaving arguments and other controversial statements for private conversations. He’s also got a couple of valuable suggestions for attracting more fans, including the “reveal” feature. Check out the article to learn more! Tomorrow we’ll post an awesome visual graphic that he’s got in connection with the book!

Do You Have a Time-Saving Idea?
We’ve blogged on the site IdeasWatch before, where people can list their ideas and vote on their favorite ideas. They recently published a report on the most popular ideas of the first part of this year, and there seemed to be a common thread running throughout all of the top ideas – saving time. If someone had an idea that was able to save a few minutes here or a few minutes there, it received many more votes. Most of us feel as though we often need more than 24 hours in a day, so this really should come as no surprise. And this provides us with a little insight when coming up with our own ideas – they probably will go a little farther if we’re able to save people some time. Check out the whole report!
